About This Guide
The Automatic Order Matching & Execution System (AMS) is a computer-based system designed to automatically record, match and execute orders to buy or sell securities listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (the Exchange).
This Guide is designed for Exchange Participants and their Authorised Clerks. It assumes you are a trader, familiar with the Rules of the Exchange and capable of following screen-based instructions.
This Guide tells you what trading functions are available to you from AMS, and gives step-by-step instructions on how to access and carry out these functions.
We strongly advise you to read Part A — Trader Terminal before trying to do anything else. It provides you with the minimum information (about the keyboard, function key usage and the common screen layout) you will need to use the system.
Part B — Trader Functions concentrates on one function at a time. It only shows the input required and the information output by that function. For clarity, any data that might remain on the screen from a previous operation is not shown. Other market information, which the system automatically and continuously displays at the bottom part of the screen, has also been deliberately excluded.
