The Public Viewing Room

HKEx opened its Public Viewing Room on the first floor of One and Two Exchange Square, Central to the public on 8 February 2007.

The Public Viewing Room is equipped with four workstations, which investors can use to search and view issuers’ announcements, notices and other documents on the HKEx websites, and to access the websites of the Securities and Futures Commission.  Investor education booklets are also available at the Room.

Opening Hours:

09:30 to 17:00 on every Trading Day

The Public Viewing Room closes at 13:00 on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and Lunar New Year's Eve when there is only half-day trading in the securities market.

Arrangements when there are Typhoon or Rainstorm Warnings 

The Public Viewing Room will be open as usual when Typhoon Signal No.3 or below or an Amber or Red Rainstorm Warning is issued by Hong Kong Observatory.

Arrangements when Typhoon Signal No.8 or above or a Black Rainstorm Warning is issued by Hong Kong Observatory are as follows:

Issuance of Signals/Warnings

The signal or warning is issued at or before09:30

The Public Viewing Room is closed.

The signal or warning is issued between 09:30 and 17:00

The Room will close 15 minutes after the issue of the signal. Visitors shall vacate the Room as soon as practicable.

The Room will remain open.

Cancellation of Signals/Warnings

The signal or warning is
cancelled at or before 12:00

The Room will open three hours after the cancellation of the signal.

If the Room is closed when the warning is issued, it will open three hours after the cancellation of the warning.

The signal or warning is
cancelled after 12:00

The Room will remain closed for the day.

If the Room is closed when the warning is issued, it will remain closed for the day.

HKEx reserves the right to close the Public Viewing Room in case of emergency, in the interest of safety or for any other reason.
