Eligibility

Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect is open to all Hong Kong and overseas investors, including institutions and individuals, who want to trade eligible A shares listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Trading Arrangements

Arrangements for cross-boundary trades under Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect, including trading procedures, trading hours, holiday arrangements and market regulations, follow home market rules to the fullest extent possible.

Quota System

Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect has a quota system in place to control the initial pace and size of cross-boundary fund flows.

Market Information

Under Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect, Hong Kong and overseas investors and their brokers can source market data through information vendors and public websites.

Investor Protection

Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect ensures minimum regulatory changes in each market. When Hong Kong and Mainland investors acquire securities through the programme, they generally enjoy the same shareholders’ rights as investors who acquired the same class of shares in their home market.
