Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) has received the written approval of the Acting Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on the reappointment of Ronald Arculli as Chairman of HKEx with immediate effect until the conclusion of the annual general meeting of HKEx to be held in 2012.

At the HKEx Board meeting last Friday, Mr Arculli was reappointed Chairman of HKEx.  Pursuant to Section 69 of the Securities and Futures Ordinance, the appointment of Mr Arculli as Chairman was subject to the written approval of the HKSAR Chief Executive. 

Mr Arculli has been HKEx’s Chairman since April 2006. The details of Mr Arculli as required to be disclosed under Rule 13.51(2) of the Listing Rules have been set out in the announcement dated 23 April 2010. The biographical details of Mr Arculli are available on HKEx website.
