The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited released today (Wednesday) a new electronic information product on Compact Disk, Hong Kong Listed Companies Annual/Interim Reports 1997.  The CDs provide black and white images of annual/interim reports (both English and Chinese versions) published by listed companies for reporting periods ending in 1997.

The compact disk format allows efficient access to listed companies' public documents through most computers with a CD-ROM drive.  The built-in search engine provided in each compact disk enables document images to be retrieved quickly by company name, stock code, document type or language.  The images can be viewed or printed out easily.

The development of this product is part of the Exchange's strategy to increase market transparency by offering easy public access to listed company documents.  The product will also enable commercial and academic institutions to build up their reference collection on the Hong Kong stock market in a convenient form.

The subscription price for the CD product is HK$2,400 per set (comprising 4 compact disks).  A special price of HK$2,000 is offered for subscriptions received by end of April 1999.  Subscription forms are now available on the Exchange's web site at http://www.sehk.com.hk and at the Sales Counter of the Exchange, located on 1/F, One & Two Exchange Square, Central.
