The Stock Exchange names new chairman of Listing Committee

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, announced today (Tuesday) the appointment of Marvin Cheung as the new Chairman of the Main Board's Listing Committee, effective 1 January 2003. Listing Committee members, Moses Cheng was named Deputy Chairman of the Main Board's Listing Committee, effective 20 January 2003 and Angelina Lee was appointed Deputy Chairman of the GEM Listing Committee effective 31 December 2002.

Marvin Cheung is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and Hong Kong Society of Accountants. He has been the elected Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of KPMG since October 1996. He is active in a number of community services including Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Tracker Fund of Hong Kong and Estate Agency Authority, and is a member of the Securities and Futures Appeals Panel and the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee. He was President of the Hong Kong Society of Accountants from 1989 to 1990, and an appointed member of the Legislative Council from 1991 to 1995.

Moses Cheng is a practising solicitor and a senior partner of Messrs P. C. Woo & Co. He is Chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education of Hong Kong. He was an appointed member of the Legislative Council from 1991 to 1995.

Angelina Lee is a practising solicitor and a partner of the firm Woo, Kwan, Lee & Lo. She is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. She is active in community services and currently serves on a number of statutory, advisory and appeal committees.
