Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) has published the eighth edition of its quarterly newsletter Exchange. This edition features:

• an article on plans to expand the existing category of Structured Products trading on the stock market to include Capital Protected Instruments, which offer investors most or all of their initial investment along with possible gains from the performance of an underlying benchmark;

• articles on the shareholder voting procedures in Hong Kong, the review of the Central Clearing and Settlement System's Investor Account service and HKEx's Memorandum of Understanding with the Shanghai Futures Exchange on looking into jointly developing energy derivatives;

• a Chat Room conversation with Stephen Law, Head of IT/Systems, in which he discusses HKEx's trading systems and some of his observations based on more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry;

• a report on the outlook for the Hong Kong debt market; and

• a new series on the Stock Exchange's Listing Decisions. It is hoped the series will assist market participants in their understanding of the Stock Exchange's Listing Rules.
