Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) announced today (Tuesday) that continuous quotes are now available in the first two contract months of the 10 stock futures contracts listed in the table below.

Timber Hill Securities Hong Kong Ltd has been registered as the Registered Trader to provide the continuous quotes.

“We have introduced continuous quotes for these stock futures contracts to further improve their price transparency and make trade execution easier,” said HKEx Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Head of Exchange Division Gerald Greiner.

Introduction of continuous quotes for designated stock futures contracts is part of HKEx’s plans to strengthen the derivatives market. In February 2005, HKEx introduced continuous quotes for eight stock options contracts. As of 10 July 2006, there were one or more market makers in the stock options market providing continuous quotes for the following 16 contracts:

There also are one or more market makers providing continuous quotes for Hang Seng Index Options, Mini-Hang Seng Index Options, H-shares Index Options, FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index Options, One-Month HIBOR Futures, Three-month HIBOR Futures and Three-year Exchange Fund Note Futures.
