Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) today (Friday) received the written approval of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) on the appointment of Gerald Greiner as Chief Operating Officer of HKEx and Chief Executive of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.  The appointments took effect today.

The Board resolved on 14 February to appoint Mr Greiner to the two positions.  Pursuant to Sections 70 and 26 of the Securities and Futures Ordinance, the appointments were subject to the written approval of the SFC.
