The Free Prices Website Service that provides real-time basic prices from the securities market of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) at six designated websites under a pilot programme will be launched officially on 1 January 2010 after positive results in the approximately three-month Soft Launch, or trial, period.  The pilot programme will last till the end of December 2011.

The Free Prices Website Service (also known as the Real-time Basic Market Prices Service) has made basic information from HKEx’s securities market available free of charge and increased the variety of information services on offer to meet the different needs in the market.  HKEx believes that the service helps increase market transparency and raises the Hong Kong securities market’s profile in the Mainland.

HKEx will continue to closely monitor the market response to the service and will review it during the latter stage of the pilot programme to determine the best way forward after 2011.
