Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) announced today (Friday) the appointment of Samuel Wong as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Head of Finance and Administration.  He will join HKEx on 2 July.  

Mr Wong has over 20 years of experience in finance, investment banking and accounting.  He is currently Finance Director of Hutchison Port Holdings Limited.  Before joining Hutchison Port Holdings, he was the CFO of i-CABLE Communications Limited, a company listed on the Main Board of HKEx’s Stock Exchange.  Mr Wong has also worked in Canada, where he was an accountant with Pricewaterhouse in Toronto early in his career before moving to corporate and investment banking roles at Bank of Nova Scotia in Toronto.   

Mr Wong holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Economics from the University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of British Columbia.  Both universities are in Canada.  He also became a Chartered Accountant in Ontario while he was living in Canada.
