Highlights

- Securities Market

Market capitalisation was $30.8 trillion at the end of October 2023, and an increase of 17 per cent from $26.4 trillion for the same period last year.
The average daily turnover in October and for the first ten months of 2023 was $78.8 billion and $106.6 billion respectively.
The average daily turnover of ETFs for the first ten months of 2023 was $11.6 billion, an increase of 25 per cent when compared with $9.3 billion for the same period last year.
The average daily turnover of L&I Products for the first ten months of 2023 was $2.2 billion, an increase of 10 per cent when compared with $2.0 billion for the same period last year.

- Derivatives Market

The average daily volume of futures and options for the first ten months of 2023 was 1,351,798 contracts, an increase of 7 per cent when compared with the 1,265,940 contracts for the same period last year.
The average daily volume of equity index options for the first ten months of 2023 was 139,734 contracts, an increase of 20 per cent when compared with the 116,456 contracts for the same period last year.
The average daily volume of Stock Options for the first ten months of 2023 was 614,604 contracts, an increase of 7 per cent when compared with the 575,587 contracts for the same period last year.
The average daily volume of RMB Currency Futures for the first ten months of 2023 was 33,049 contracts, an increase of 82 per cent when compared with the 18,123 contracts for the same period last year.
On 18 October 2023, the volume of RMB Currency Futures - USD/CNH Futures reached a record high of 110,325 contracts.
