Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is pleased to announce today (Wednesday) the appointment of Michael Ho as Managing Director, Head of Group Strategy.
In his new role, Mr Ho will lead the Group Strategy function, working alongside the HKEX Management Committee and executives across the business, to deliver on the Group's strategic priorities. He will be responsible for providing insights into key macro trends and economic developments, guiding new business initiatives and supporting the Group's long-term growth ambitions.
Mr Ho will join the Group on 1 September and report to HKEX Chief Operating Officer Vanessa Lau.
HKEX is also pleased to announce that Kevin Rumjahn will become Managing Director, Head of CEO Office and Head of Strategic Relations, reporting to HKEX Chief Executive Officer, Bonnie Y Chan.
Mr Rumjahn, currently Head of Group Strategy and Head of CEO Office, will take on this new and expanded role to underscore the importance of strategic relationships to the Group, as it deepens its international and multilateral engagements. Under his leadership, the new function will strengthen the Group’s capabilities and focus, enabling HKEX to capture new opportunities through these vital gateways.
HKEX Chief Executive Officer, Bonnie Y Chan, said: “Michael brings a wealth of exchange and financial sector experience. He is a proven corporate strategy leader, driving enterprise planning and development across the region. With his deep knowledge of Hong Kong and international markets, he is well placed to help drive forward our strategic agenda.

Mr Ho joins HKEX from Oliver Wyman, where he has spent more than 14 years advising executives and boards at leading exchanges, regulators and banks in Asia Pacific, most recently as Partner, Banking & Financial Services and Asia-Pacific Head of Digital Assets.
He is a graduate of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where he obtained a BBA (Global Business & Economics).
