Overview
Asia’s transition to a low-carbon economy will require substantial investment in companies making a meaningful contribution to the green economy.

To attract that capital, companies need a clear and transparent way to demonstrate their green activities and investments, strengthen their visibility among investors and build credibility in the market.

As an international sustainable finance hub, Hong Kong has an important role to play in connecting these companies with global capital.

What is HKEX Green Equity?

HKEX Green Equity is a voluntary designation framework for eligible companies with substantial green activities and investments.

Companies are assessed by an independent Recognised Reviewer against the HKEX Green Equity Framework, which draws on relevant taxonomies and the WFE Green Equity Principles, and aligns with global sustainability priorities.

The designation helps market participants identify companies with a substantial commitment to environmentally sustainable business activities and investment, while giving companies a credible way to demonstrate their contribution to the green economy.

Hong Kong has always been where capital meets opportunity. HKEX Green Equity channels that strength into the green economy, helping issuers with substantial green activities stand out so investors can back the low-carbon transition with confidence.
