The Game helps investors to learn and experience how to trade and apply various investment strategies which involve both stock and options. Orders are matched at real market prices and portfolio balances are updated online.

All legal residents of Hong Kong aged 18 or above can enrol for the Prize Awarding Competition Division of the Game. The Game, located at web site http://www.sehk.com.hk/igtops, will be open for preview from 1:00 p.m. on October 26 to  October 28, 1999.  During the preview, interested parties can register and/or browse through the Game pages.  To encourage more participation, gifts will be given to the first 100 to register for the Prize Awarding Competition Division successfully.

The Game will take place in nine monthly sessions from November 1, 1999 to July 31, 2000.  At the start of each session, each player will be credited with $1 million fantasy capital in their account to trade options and stocks.  Short options and stock positions are allowed but are subject to margin requirement.  The first session will last from November 1 to 29, 1999.  Individuals who registered successfully in the preview session will continue to use the account number assigned and need not register again.

Twenty prizes, including 500 units of Tracker Fund of Hong Kong each for the top three players, will be awarded in each monthly session to participants with the highest portfolio balance at the end of the session.  At the end of the final session, ten Grand Prizes including a saloon car will be awarded to the top performers.

Players who are not familiar with options trading can visit the Exchange website on SCORE - Stock Options Reference Educator.  SCORE offers an interactive program on options covering the introductory level on the basic options concepts to the advanced level on various trading strategies.  The Game represents part of an educational series on the advanced technological trading of options and stocks on the Internet.
