Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on exchange of information with the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) in Sydney on Monday, 11 December 2000.

Kwong Ki-chi, chief executive of HKEx, and Richard Humphrey, chief executive and managing director of ASX, will sign on behalf of the two exchanges.

Joe Hockey, Australia's Minister for Financial Services and Regulation, Stephen Ip, Hong Kong's Secretary for Financial Services, and Maurice Newman, ASX's Chairman, will also attend the signing ceremony
