24 May 2000

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong today (Wednesday) launched a web-based Investment Service Centre, ISC, which offers investors listed company news alert, portfolio valuation, and other information services free of charge.

Investors can subscribe to ISC to receive news alerts on up to ten securities nominated by them in the language of their choice and by their preferred delivery mechanism - email, mobile with short message service, or both. ISC will notify the subscriber of announcements made by any of the ten selected securities, in the morning and afternoon of each trading day.

ISC will provide a portfolio valuation, based on the last closing prices for subscribers who input their stock-holding information. In its company profile service, ISC provides company information, including up to three-years' dividend history, principal activities, names of chairmen and market capitalisation.

The historical price-volume chart provides a selection of 3, 6 and 12 month price-volume charts. Adjusted prices and moving 5, 10, 20, or 50 day averages are used for charting and are compared against the performance of the All Ordinaries Index or Growth Enterprises Index.
