HKEx Director and SEHK Chairman Lee Hon Chiu Retires

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) announced today that Lee Hon Chiu has retired as a Director of HKEx and Chairman of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (SEHK), a wholly owned subsidiary of HKEx, with effect from today.

Kwong Ki-chi, Chief Executive of HKEx and a Director of SEHK, has been appointed Chairman of SEHK. Mr Kwong is also Chairman of Hong Kong Futures Exchange (HKFE).

Mr Lee was first elected Chairman of the Council of SEHK in November 1997. He served as Chairman of the Council until March 2000 when he was appointed Chairman of a new SEHK Board of Directors following the completion of the merger of SEHK, HKFE and the associated clearing houses.
