HKEx features its high quality services and products at MoneyWorld Asia - Hong Kong 2001

Corporate
24 May 2001

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) will be participating in MoneyWorld Asia - Hong Kong 2001 to be held from 25 to 27 May at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

As individual investors have been playing a more active and direct role in Hong Kongs securities and futures markets, HKEx is stepping up its investor education efforts. Through this exhibition, HKEx aims to better acquaint the public with the markets and its wide range of products and services through multi-media presentations, service counters, lucky draws and investor seminars.

The public are welcome to use HKEx's simulated online trading terminals to gain a real sense of the convenience of placing, amending and cancelling orders, and enquiring about their status on screen. Various proprietary network systems (PNS) that support electronic trading on AMS/3 service will also be on display. PNS linked to HKEx's order routing system enable investors to place their orders via the Internet, mobile phones and other electronic channels. Representatives from PNS vendors will be available to explain their services.

In addition, visitors will be able to register for an Investor Participant Account with CCASS, the Central Clearing and Settlement System, and HKEx's online trading service. They will also be able to apply for an e-Cert issued by Hongkong Post.

During the three-day event, distinguished guests and HKEx executives will speak at a number of seminars covering a broad spectrum of topics, including the products and services offered by HKEx. Special guest speaker Mr Moses Cheng, Chairman of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors, will discuss corporate governance and shareholders rights. Other seminars, led by market practitioners and HKEx executives, will focus on how to understand listed companies' annual reports and corporate announcements, Exchange Traded Funds, futures products and online trading. On-site presentations and demonstrations have also been arranged.

The following are the investor seminar schedule and the details on the on-site presentations.
