Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) signed an agreement with the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange today (Thursday) providing for the mutual exchange of securities market and listed company data.

The information demand for China securities markets has grown as a result of increased investor interest in China markets. To satisfy the need, HKEx has reached an agreement with the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on the mutual exchange and web publication of securities market and listed company data. The objective is to provide investors with direct and convenient access to data from the three securities markets and to promote cooperation and information exchanges between the three bourses.

HKEx hopes that the agreement will form a basis for future market information cooperation among the three exchanges.

Discussion on the technical issues involving data exchange between the three signatories is under way. HKEx expects information for China securities markets to be available on its web site later this year.
