Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEx) will introduce three new stock futures contracts and three new stock option classes on 22 July (Monday). The underlying stocks for the new products will be China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, CNOOC Limited and Huaneng Power International, Inc.
The contract months of the new stock futures contracts available for trading on the introduction day will be August 2002, September 2002, December 2002 and March 2003, while contracts for the August 2002, September 2002, December 2002 and March 2003 expiry months will be available for trading when the new stock option classes are introduced.
At least five strike prices will be available for trading for each new stock option class on 22 July. The strike prices will depend on the closing price of the underlying stock on the trading day immediately prior to commencement of trading in the new option classes.
HKEx will offer the following stock futures contracts and stock option classes following the introduction of the new contracts.
