As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen market transparency, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) has started posting Exchange News on its website immediately after the news is disseminated through the Stock Exchange's Third Generation Automatic Order Matching and Execution System (AMS/3). HKEx introduced the new arrangements today (Monday).

Exchange News covers a wide range of market information. It includes short selling turnover, new options series, manual transactions for Equity Linked Instruments and derivative warrants, Exchange Fund Note data, closing bid and ask quotes for Hong Kong stocks traded in London, and last sale prices of Hong Kong stocks traded in the US.

Previously, Exchange News was posted on HKEx's website after the close of the securities market. Now, under normal circumstances, Exchange News is available on the website immediately after it appears on AMS/3.

HKEx is also exploring the technical feasibility of disseminating Exchange News through AMS/3 and posting the news on its website simultaneously.

In addition to Exchange News from the current trading day, news from the preceding trading day is also available on HKEx's website.

Exchange News can be accessed through Trading News in the Cash Market Trading Information section of HKEx's website at www.hkex.com.hk. Exchange News is also available to investors through many of HKEx's information vendors.
