Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) has introduced a new service that provides price depth information from its Derivatives Market. The information, previously only available through the trading systems of the Derivatives Market (Hong Kong Futures Automated Trading System), is now available through information vendors.

The price depth information comprises aggregated best five bid and ask prices with full volume for all instruments trading on the HKEx Derivatives Market (please see the following example).

The price depth information is transmitted in real time through the new TCP/IP information feed in the bandwidth of 128Kbps. The new feed went live last month.

The information will be made available to retail and institutional investors on a subscription basis via information vendors.

"This new service is part of our ongoing efforts to meet the needs of investors," said Roger Lee, HKEx Senior Vice President of E-business and Information Services.

"The wider distribution of price depth information adds to market transparency and can help investors in their analysis and decision making," Mr Lee added.
