Pursuant to section 67of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Cap.571),the Securities and Futures Commission today(Wednesday) approved amendments to the Articles of Association of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx). The amendments take immediate effect.

The amendments are made in compliance with changes to the Listing Rules and the Companies Ordinance.

Shareholders approved the amendments to the Articles of Association of HKEx by a special resolution at the annual general meeting held on 31 March 2004. The amended Articles of Association are available on HKEx's website at http://www.hkex.com.hk.
