HKEx appoints Head of Risk Management

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) has appointed Vic Tham as Head of Risk Management. He will take up his appointment on 22 November 2004.

Mr Tham has over 18 years of securities and banking experience with multinational organisations in major financial centres, including extensive experience in risk management, project management and operations.

Mr Tham's most recent position was Vice President of Market and Operational Risk in the Group Risk Management unit of DBS Bank Limited, Singapore. Prior to that, he worked for a number of large corporations in the US, Hong Kong and Singapore, including ABN-AMRO Securities, New York; Robert Fleming Securities, New York; Jardine Fleming Securities, Hong Kong; Morgan Stanley Asia, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Mr Tham holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration Degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in the US.
