Allotment Results for Bank of China Public Offering (stock code: 3988)

Further to the announcement of Bank of China Limited (BOC) dated 26 May 2006 on arrangements for publication of allocation results for its Hong Kong public offering (the BOC Announcement), Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) is providing additional information to help investors access the allotment results.

As stated in the BOC Announcement, applicants who wish to obtain the allocation results are encouraged to make use of:

- BOC’s public offer website at www.bankofchina.com, which will operate on a 24-hour basis from 8:00am  on 30 May 2006  to 12:00 midnight on 9 June 2006; and
- BOC’s enquiry line at 183-3883, which will be operating between 8:00am and 12:00 midnight from 30 May 2006 to 2 June 2006.

The allocation results will also be available on the HKEx website.  For the convenience of applicants, HKEx will post the allocation results on a dedicated webpage at www.iporesults.hkex.com.hk not later than 8:00am on 30 May 2006.  The dedicated page will operate on a 24-hour basis until 12:00 midnight on 9 June 2006.    

Furthermore, BOC will make the allocation results available in special allocation results booklets at the following locations:

- all 70 receiving bank branches and sub-branches listed in the BOC Announcement and the Hong Kong underwriters at the addresses set out in the BOC prospectus during opening hours of individual branches and sub-branches from 30 May 2006 to 6 June 2006; and
- all branches of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited located in Hong Kong during opening hours of individual branches from 30 May 2006 to 6 June 2006.

The BOC Announcement also states that if an applicant is unable to locate the information he/she/it is seeking in the allocation results, he/she/it can contact BOC’s H share registrar, Computershare Hong Kong Investor Services Limited, at 46/F, Hopewell Centre, 183 Queen’s Road East, Wan Chai, Hong Kong or by calling 2862 8555 during Computershare’s business hours from 30 May 2006.
