Admission of Hunan Nonferrous Metals to List of Designated Securities for Short Selling

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), announces that with effect from 2 June 2006 (Friday), Hunan Nonferrous Metals Corporation Limited (Stock Code: 2626) will be admitted to the list of designated securities eligible for short selling.

The latest list of all designated securities for short selling is available on HKEx's website.

Note: Hunan Nonferrous Metals has been admitted as a constituent of the MSCI China Index and its addition to the list of designated securities for short selling is pursuant to the Eleventh Schedule of the Rules of the Exchange.
