Biographies
Mr McAFEE William Gage – Chairman
Aged 65, Managing Director of The GE Asia Pacific Capital Technology Fund and Asia Pacific Capital (HK) Ltd was appointed to the Listing Committee on 16 May 2003. Mr McAfee will retire as a director of Chinney Alliance Group Limited, a company listed on the Exchange, in June 2008. He was a director of Singapore-listed Internet Technology Group Limited until February 2007 and has also served on many other listed company boards. He was a member of the Dual Filing Advisory Group of the SFC. He is a former Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, a former Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Community Chest, and a former member of the General Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Law Reform Commission for six years and an Adviser on the Basic Law Consultative Committee.
Ms KO Yuk-yin, Teresa – Deputy Chairman
Aged 47, China Managing Partner, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, was appointed to the Listing Committee on 19 May 2006. She qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong and in England and Wales after receiving her Masters Degree from Cambridge University. Ms Ko is Deputy Chairman and a member of the Hong Kong Panel on Takeovers and Mergers, a member of the SFC (HKEC Listing) Committee and a member of the Standing Committee on Company Law Reform.
Mr TSOI Tong Hoo, Tony – Deputy Chairman
Aged 43, Chief Executive Officer, Varitronix International Limited was appointed to the Listing Committee on 16 May 2003. He is a Non Executive Director of China WindPower Group Limited (previously called Hong Kong Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited) and a former Non Executive Director of Asian Union New Media (Group) Limited both of which are listed on the Exchange. He is a member of the SFC (HKEC Listing) Committee.
Mr CHOW Man Yiu, Paul – ex officio Member
Aged 61, became an ex officio member of the Listing Committee on being appointed Chief Executive of HKEx on 1 May 2003. He is Chairman of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and also Chairman and director of various other subsidiaries of HKEx. Mr Chow was previously the Chief Executive, Asia Pacific ex-Japan Region of HSBC Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited from April 1997 to April 2003. He is a director and chairman of the working committee of the World Federation of Exchanges, a former director of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, and a member of the board and executive committee of The Community Chest of Hong Kong. He is also a member of the Digital 21 Strategy Advisory Committee of the HKSAR Government, the Standing Committee on Company Law Reform, and the Council and Court of The University of Hong Kong. From June 2001 to May 2007 he was a member of the Advisory Committee of the SFC, from December 2004 to December 2006 he was an appointed member of the Council of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and from January 2000 to September 2001 he was Chairman of the Hong Kong Investment Funds Association. Mr Chow is a Distinguished Fellow of the Hong Kong Computer Society and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Diploma in Management Studies and an MBA degree from The University of Hong Kong, and a Diploma in Finance (Distinction) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. The University of Hong Kong has conferred an honorary university fellowship on Mr Chow and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has conferred a university fellowship on him. He is a fellow of The Hong Kong Management Association, The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries, The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, and an ordinary member of the Hong Kong Securities Institute.
Mr ALLEN Jamie – Member
Aged 46, Founding Secretary General of the Asian Corporate Governance Association, an independent non-profit organisation based in Hong Kong, was appointed to the Listing Committee on 19 May 2006. Mr Allen was previously a member of the Public Shareholders’ Group of the SFC for six years. He is also a core member of the OECD Asian Roundtable on Corporate Governance and a member of the International Corporate Governance Network. He is an honours graduate of the Australian National University, Canberra.
Mr BEST Roger Thomas – Member
Aged 58, Partner, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu was appointed to the Listing Committee on 16 May 2003. He is a former member of the Council and a former President of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr Best is also a member of the Securities and Futures Appeals Tribunal and the Share Registrar’s Disciplinary Committee.

Aged 51, Executive Director, The Association for Sustainable and Responsible Investment in Asia, was appointed to the Listing Committee on 19 May 2006. She was previously Managing Director and Deputy Head of Asian Research for Citigroup/Salomon Smith Barney. She is a graduate of Williams College and holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
Mr BROWN Stephen James – Member
Aged 53, Director of Investors Relations at Noble Group Limited was appointed to the Listing Committee on 19 May 2006. Mr Brown was previously a director of Kim Eng Securities Hong Kong Limited and has held a number of senior positions at major institutions operating in the capital markets in Hong Kong. Mr Brown is a director of Civic Exchange and a Member of Vision 2047. He graduated from Reading University with a degree in Urban Estate Management.

Aged 62, Director, Bentley Reid & Co (Pacific) Ltd, was appointed to the Listing Committee on 19 May 2006. He is a former vice chairman of the Asian Securities Analysts Federation and currently chairs its publications committee. Mr Bunker is a former chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Investment Analysts and was a founder-director of the Hong Kong Securities Institute. He is a graduate of Cambridge University.
Mr CHAN Chun Hung, Vincent – Member
Aged 45, Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder, Spring Capital Asia Limited, was appointed to the Listing Committee on 18 May 2007. From November 2000 to November 2007 he was Managing Director, Head of North Asia and Investment Committee Member of JAFCO Asia. Mr Chan was a Non Executive Director of China Grentech and Canadian Solar respectively, both are listed on the NASDAQ. He is the President and a former Chairman of the HK Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, a member of Assessment Panel for the Small Entrepreneur Research Assistance Programme, a member of the TDC's ICT Services Advisory Committee and a member of the TDC's Innovation and Technology Advisory Committee. He is a member of the Public Shareholders Group of the SFC and a member of the Disciplinary Panel of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr CHEN Yang Chung, Roy – Member
Aged 44, Executive Director, Sterling Enterprises Limited, was appointed to the Listing Committee on 13 May 2005. He is a former alternate director of Wing Lung Bank Limited and was a member of the Takeovers and Mergers Panel from April 2005 to March 2008. Mr Chen is also a member of the Executive Committee for the Hong Kong Council for Social Services, a trustee of the Hong Kong Council of Social Services Foundation and a member of the Steering Committee for the Caring Company Partnership Scheme. In addition he is a member of the US-based Russell 20-20 organisation and an advisory faculty member of the Institute for Private Investors, also based in the US.
Dr FUNG Shing Kwong – Member
Aged 61, was appointed to the Listing Committee on 19 May 2006. He was previously Managing Director, North Asia of ACNielsen and prior to that was the Chief Executive Officer of Media Genesis, a company he co-founded. He was also formerly President of NBC Asia and General Manager of TVB. Dr Fung was a member of the supervisory board of directors of New Skies Satellites, a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. He was a past member of the board and past President of the Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia. Dr Fung holds a PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Columbia University.

Aged 43, Partner and Risk Advisory Services Practice Leader, Ernst & Young China, was appointed to the Listing Committee on 18 May 2007. He is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and a graduate of the London School of Economics.

Aged 61, Chief Executive Officer, OSK Asia Holdings Limited, was appointed to the Listing Committee on 16 May 2003. He was previously Managing Director of UOB Kay Hian (Asia) Limited. He is an Independent Non Executive Director of Lifestyle International Holdings Limited, Chun Wo Holdings Limited, Frasers Property (China) Limited (previously known as Vision Century Corporation Limited), Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited, Jiuzhou Development Company Limited; and a former Independent Non Executive Director of New World Mobile Holdings Limited and Wing Lee Holdings Limited – all of which are listed on the Exchange. Mr Hui was appointed a Justice of the Peace in 2004 and is a member of the Election Committee for the HKSAR. He is a member of the Zhuhai Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. He is an appointed member of the Securities and Futures Appeals Tribunal, a member of the Committee on Real Estate Investment Trusts and a former member of the Advisory Committee of the SFC. Mr Hui is also a member of the Standing Committee on Company Law Reform, an appointed member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants Investigation Panel A and an appointed member of the Appeal Panel of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong. From 1991 to 1996 and from 1997 to 2000 Mr Hui was a member of the Council of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and was a director of the Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company Limited.
Mr HUNT Stephen Burnau – Member
Aged 68, Deputy Chairman of Cathay International Holdings Limited, a company listed on the London Stock Exchange, was appointed to the Listing Committee on 5 November 2004. He is a former president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and is currently a member of its government relations committee and a director of its charitable foundation.
Mr IP Koon Wing, Ernest – Member
Aged 47, Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers was appointed to the Listing Committee on 16 May 2003. Mr Ip is the leader of the Hong Kong and China assurance practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, a council member of the Hong Kong Consumer Council, a general committee member of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, a member of the Dual Filing Advisory Group of the SFC, and a member of the Review Panel of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors.
Mr KEYES Terence François – Member
Aged 48, was appointed to the Listing Committee on 19 May 2008. In June 2008, Mr Keyes will assume the role of Head of Asia Corporate Finance at Merrill Lynch. He was previously a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division at Morgan Stanley. Mr Keyes is a former member of the Hong Kong Panel on Takeovers and Mergers. He is a graduate of Oxford University and an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

He was appointed to the Listing Committee on 16 May 2003. Mr Ko was Chairman of BNP Paribas Peregrine Capital Limited from February 2001 to November 2002 and a director of Goldbond Group Holdings Limited from February 2003 to August 2005. He is an Independent Non Executive Director of Tianjin Capital Environmental Protection Company Limited and a former Independent Non Executive Director of iMerchants Limited – all of which are listed on the Exchange. From May 1997 to May 2003 he was an Independent Non Executive Director of Dazhong Transport (Group) Company Limited which is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Professor LOW Chee Keong – Member
Aged 46, Associate Professor in Corporate Law, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, was appointed to the Listing Committee on 19 May 2006. Professor Low holds degrees in economics and law from Monash University in Australia, a Master of Laws from the University of Hong Kong and is admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court in Malaysia. He is a member of the Financial Reporting Review Panel and serves in various academic advisory roles to the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries.

Aged 40, Partner, Herbert Smith, was appointed to the Listing Committee on 19 May 2008. He was previously Executive Director and Senior Counsel at Goldman Sachs (Asia) L.L.C. Mr Moore is qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong and is admitted as an attorney in the Supreme Court of the State of New York and the State of Washington. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Marshall University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from West Virginia University College of Law.

Aged 46, Chief Executive Officer for Hong Kong and the Asian hub as well as the Deputy Head for Asia, Middle East, Africa and Turkey (overseeing Investments in the local units), Fortis Investments was appointed to the Listing Committee on 19 May 2006. Mr Ng served on the Board of Governors of the CFA Institute based in the US from 2003 to 2006.

He is the Chairman of the Advocacy Committee of The Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts (HKSFA) and has served on its board since January 1998. He was previously Managing Director, Deloitte & Touche Corporate Finance Limited and prior to that Managing Director, Investment Banking, at Standard Chartered Bank. Mr Winter is a member of the Takeovers and Mergers Panel and the Takeovers Appeals Committee, and a Director of the Hong Kong Securities Institute and Chairman of its Research Committee. He previously held senior positions at various listed companies before joining Cosco Pacific Limited in 1996. Dr Wong is an Independent Non Executive Director of China Metal International Holdings Inc, I.T.
