HKEx to Introduce Three New Stock Option Classes on 2 July

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) will introduce three new stock option classes on Wednesday, 2 July this year: China Cinda Asset Management Co Ltd, GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Ltd and Kingsoft Corporation Ltd.

HKEx has invited applications for Exchange Participants interested in serving as market makers for the new option classes. The first table below shows contract highlights for the new option classes. A general contract summary is posted on the HKEx website.

After the additions, there will be 77 stock option classes available for trading at HKEx. The following tables show HKEx's stock option classes from 2 July.

Stock options accounted for about half of the trading in HKEx's derivatives (futures and options) market in the first five months of this year. Their trading volume for January to May was up more than 4 per cent from the same period last year at 27,396,985 contracts, and open interest was 6,235,119 contracts at the end of last month, compared with 5,678,934 contracts on 31 May 2013.
