Meanwhile, Apurv Bagri and Nisa Leung are retiring as Directors of HKEX. The Board has today appointed Mr Bagri as Senior Advisor to the Board, as well as a member of HKEX’s International Advisory Council.

Following the Government’s re-appointment of Carlson Tong and Joseph Yam and appointment of Ding Chen, and shareholders’ election of Peter Brien as Directors of HKEX, new appointments have been made to certain committees of HKEX, with immediate effect.

HKEX Chairman, Carlson Tong, said: “We warmly welcome the election of Mr Peter Brien as a director of HKEX. Mr Brien’s strong capital markets experience, during the course of his distinguished legal career and as chairman of the Listing Committee, will be invaluable in guiding HKEX’s strategic development. Together with the appointment of Ms Ding Chen, these new directors will add to the diversity and calibre of the HKEX Board.”

“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Mr Apurv Bagri for his nine years of dedicated service to HKEX. As a director, Mr Bagri’s many contributions have helped enhance the competitiveness of Hong Kong’s financial markets and cemented its status as a premier fundraising centre. We look forward to continue benefiting from his wise counsel as an advisor to HKEX.”

Mr Tong added: “We would also like to once again thank Ms Nisa Leung for her contributions to HKEX, and wish her the very best in her future endeavours.”

The latest compositions of HKEX’s committees are available on the HKEX Group website. The term of service of each HKEX Director on each committee is coterminous with the individual’s term of directorship with HKEX.
