Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is today (Friday) pleased to announce senior appointments in its Fixed Income and Currencies (FIC) business, with Kevin Fan joining as Managing Director, Head of FIC Product Development, and Andy Ni joining as Managing Director, Head of OTC Platform Development.
In his new role as part of the Markets Division, Mr Fan will lead HKEX’s FIC teams to build the diversity and attractiveness of the Group’s FIC ecosystem, delivering new products and enhancements to support the FIC trading and risk-management needs of global investors, and driving the long-term development of Hong Kong’s fixed-income market. Reporting to HKEX Head of Markets, Gregory Yu, Mr Fan will join the Group on 12 August 2025.
HKEX Chief Executive Officer, Bonnie Y Chan, said: “I am delighted to welcome Kevin to HKEX. He joins us at an exciting time as we continue to elevate the depth and vibrancy of Hong Kong’s markets. His extensive industry experience – combined with the expansion of our dedicated FIC Product Development function – will allow us to better leverage the many opportunities that we have in front of us in the fixed-income and risk management space.”
Reporting to Mr Fan, Mr Ni will join HKEX on 7 July and will be responsible for overseeing HKEX’s OTC Clear platform, as well as to continue enhancing Swap Connect, the latest addition to the Hong Kong-Mainland China mutual market access programme.
Ms Chan said: “This is a time of exceptional growth in our OTC business, with the significant contribution from Swap Connect seeing us reach record highs in OTC volumes last year. I am pleased that Andy will be joining us to lead our OTC platform development, and I know that his deep experience will allow us to further build on our financial infrastructure and set ourselves up for onward growth.”
“These appointments come at an important moment in HKEX’s FIC journey, as we build an increasingly competitive fixed-income marketplace with the platforms and products that are fit for purpose, matching capital with opportunity.”
Separately, HKEX announces that Glenda So, Head of Platform and Market Structure Development, will be leaving HKEX on 31 July after over five years with the Group in a number of senior leadership roles, to spend more time with her family.
Ms Chan said: “Glenda has been a valued member of the HKEX leadership team and has contributed to several major developments during her time with the Group, including the rollout of our new cash market risk management platform, the launch of Core Climate, the introduction of Swap Connect and the acceptance of China Government Bonds as collateral for that programme, and most recently launching the first phases of our Integrated Fund Platform.”
“I fully respect Glenda’s decision to spend more time with her family and want to thank her for her many contributions, her support and her friendship over the past five years. We wish her the very best for her next chapter.”
