Introduction

The HKEX Artificial Intelligence Index is designed to measure the performance of 40 Hong Kong-listed companies with high exposure to the artificial intelligence (AI) value chain, encompassing AI chips, AI infrastructure, AI models and AI applications.


Key Features

  • Focus on AI Innovation: Constituents are selected and weighted using a fundamental-tilted approach, designed to identify companies demonstrating meaningful investment in AI research and development and capital expenditure.

  • Broad Exposure Across AI Segments: Comprises companies with significant exposure to a five-layer AI stack, providing representation across multiple segments of the AI ecosystem, including chip design, data centres, AI infrastructure, AI models, software and physical applications.
  • Representation of Hong Kong’s AI growth: Provides investors with a representative benchmark for Hong Kong's rapidly growing AI sector.
