The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong held its 19th Annual General Meeting today (Tuesday).

The meeting adopted the Reports of the Council and the Auditors, and the audited financial statements for the year ended June 30 1999.  Ernst & Young were re-appointed the Exchange's auditors.

There was no election of members of the Council at the meeting.  It has been resolved at the Extraordinary General Meeting held in September that all members of the Council, and the Chairman and Vice Chairmen would remain in office until the scheme took effect.

A Council meeting following the annual general meeting re-appointed all members of the Listing Committee.  All members of other committees will remain in office until the scheme of arrangement becomes effective.
