Market Operations
03 Jan 2001

Starting 1 February, Stock Exchange Participants will be able to receive daily email news on the seven Nasdaq stocks traded under the Stock Exchanges Pilot Programme. Stock Exchange Participants will also be able to receive research reports on the Pilot Programme stocks via email.

The daily news and research reports will comprise information on Amgen, Applied Materials, Cisco Systems, Dell, Intel, Microsoft and Starbucks. These news and reports will be provided directly by independent third parties, such as Exchange Participant and news agency, to Stock Exchange Participants and will be free of charge for a six-month trial period. The Stock Exchange is assisting the third parties in the distribution of the news and reports, but will not be responsible for the contents.

"These emails will help Stock Exchange Participants keep abreast of the latest developments on the Nasdaq stocks in the Pilot Programme," said a spokesman for Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), the holding company of the Stock Exchange. "The daily email news and research reports will also provide additional sources of information on the Pilot Programme stocks."

Hyperlinks to a wide range of information on the seven Nasdaq stocks traded in Hong Kong can be found in the Pilot Programme section of the HKEx website at www.hkex.com.hk.
