HKEx Publishes 13th Edition of its Quarterly Publication - Exchange

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) has published the 13th edition of its quarterly publication, Exchange. This edition features:
- articles on the Listing Division's new operating structure and vetting procedures for initial public offering (IPO) applications submitted to the Stock Exchange and the Stock Exchange's current policy on trading suspension;
- an overview of the Guarantee and Reserve Funds that were established to help protect clearing houses if one of their Participants is not able to meet its obligations;
- a Chat Room conversation with the Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Gerald Greiner, who heads the Exchange Division. Mr Greiner discusses HKEx's planned consultation on proposed changes to the trading spreads in the securities market and some of the other issues his division is examining;
- a summary of HKEx's proposed framework for a scripless security market;
- a report on the trading of commodity futures and options on overseas exchanges.
