The year-to-date turnover on the Hong Kong securities market (Main Board and Growth Enterprise Market, or GEM) reached $3,789,873,449,652 (subject to adjustment) today, exceeding the annual turnover record of $3,788,959,790,000 set in 1997.
Earlier this month, the Stock Exchange set a market capitalisation record, rising to an all-time high of $6,649,206,767,567 on 2 December.
