08 Jun 2006

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) will introduce Bank of China Limited (BCL) Futures and Options on Monday, 3 July 2006.

Contract months of the BCL Futures and Options available for trading on 3 July will be July, August, September, December 2006 and March 2007.

The multiplier for the futures contracts will be 1,000.  The size of the options contracts will be one board lot of the underlying shares, or 1,000 shares.

Meanwhile, due to low market activity in the trading of futures and options on China Resources Enterprise Limited (CRE) and futures and options on COSCO Pacific Limited (COS), these contracts will be gradually suspended after the market close on 8 June 2006.  Immediately after the market close on 8 June, no new contract months and/or series for CRE Futures and Options or COS Futures and Options will be introduced for trading.

All existing CRE and COS Futures contract months and Options series in the contract / expiry months of June, July, August, September and December 2006 will remain available for trading until expiration.

The latest information on the futures and options contracts traded on HKEx's derivatives market, including contract specifications, is available in the product section of the HKEx website.  Please see:http://www.hkex.com.hk/eng/prod/drprod/Pages/DMProducts.htm.
