Highlights

- Securities Market

Market capitalisation was $31.1 trillion at the end of July 2024.
The average daily turnover in July 2024 was $98.6 billion, while the average daily turnover for the first seven months of 2024 was $108.6 billion.
The average daily turnover of L&I Products for the first seven months of 2024 was $2.3 billion, an increase of 5 per cent when compared with $2.2 billion for the same period last year.
The average daily turnover of Debt Securities for the first seven months of 2024 was $560 million, an increase of 14 per cent when compared with $490 million for the same period last year.
There were 40 newly listed companies for the first seven months of 2024, an increase of 3 per cent when compared with 39* for the same period last year.

- Derivatives Market

The average daily volume of futures and options for the first seven months of 2024 was 1,499,137 contracts, an increase of 10 per cent when compared with the 1,367,847 contracts for the same period last year.
The average daily volume of equity index futures for the first seven months of 2024 was 579,241 contracts, an increase of 3 per cent when compared with the 562,476 contracts for the same period last year.
The average daily volume of equity index options for the first seven months of 2024 was 146,541 contracts, an increase of 1 per cent when compared with the 144,892 contracts for the same period last year.
The average daily volume of Stock Options for the first seven months of 2024 was 680,980 contracts, an increase of 8 per cent when compared with the 632,646 contracts for the same period last year.
The average daily volume of Stock Futures for the first seven months of 2024 was 8,017 contracts, an increase of 16 per cent when compared with the 6,913 contracts for the same period last year.
The average daily volume of RMB Currency Futures for the first seven months of 2024 was 82,833 contracts, an increase of 310 per cent when compared with the 20,226 contracts for the same period last year.
