HKEx Launches www.hkexnews.hk, its Designated Issuer Website

Corporate
Regulatory
04 Feb 2008

As part of its commitment to enhancing its issuer information dissemination regime, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) today (Monday) launched a website at www.hkexnews.hk solely for the dissemination of issuer information.

The new website covers two main areas:

issuer information generated directly by listed issuers and/or their major shareholders and directors such as issuer documents submitted via the e-Submission System (ESS) and disclosure information filed via the Disclosure of Interests (DI) System; and

HKEx-generated regulatory information on companies listed on the Main Board and Growth Enterprise Market (GEM).

The only change to the operations of the ESS and the DI System is that issuer documents submitted electronically through ESS for publication are now posted on the HKExnews website instead of the HKEx website.

The dedicated issuer website was created to:

serve as a centralised platform for issuers’ regulatory filings and disclosures;

provide the investing public with convenient online access to issuer information; and

help further improve the overall performance and service level in the area of issuer news dissemination.

“The new website is a one-stop platform for electronic disclosure of issuer information and a central issuer document archive.  It allows the investing public to access issuer information in a timely manner,” Richard Williams, HKEx’s Head of Listing, said. “The look-and-feel of the new website was designed for easy navigation and information retrieval. Its features and functions will facilitate searches and cater for the preferences of different users, where practicable.”

“The new website provides the foundation for the future development of the issuer information dissemination regime,” Mr Williams added.

Visitors to the Latest Listed Company Information and Listed Company Information Search sections of the Investment Service Centre on the HKEx website will be redirected to www.hkexnews.hk.
