HKEX concluded in December 2021 to create a new listing regime for Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPAC), enhancing the competitiveness of Hong Kong as an international financial centre.

Only professional investors are allowed to subscribe and/or buy SPAC Shares and SPAC Warrants. In addition, only SPAC Exchange Participants that are registered with HKEX are allowed to conduct trading of SPAC Shares and SPAC Warrants.
